For insurance carriers
How Remi writes the estimate.
Built for the adjuster who reviews it: carrier line items, a clock with a published start and stop, the statuses your team expects, and billing terms set before the work starts.

The clock and the price
What each figure counts.
Every figure here is one Remi already publishes. Next to each is exactly what it counts, since a turnaround time means little until you know when the clock starts.
- Estimate turnaround on adjuster referrals
- Within 24 hours
- Adjuster referrals only: from Remi receiving the referral and scope of loss to Remi's estimate being ready for review. The adjuster's inspection, carrier review and the install fall outside that window. On claims Remi inspects, the estimate follows the inspection, with timing confirmed per program during vendor review.

What Remi needs
Five things from the adjuster.
On an adjuster-led referral, Remi writes the estimate from your scope. These details make it accurate the first time.
- 01The deductible amount
- 02Scope and severity of loss
- 03Depreciation, recoverable and non-recoverable
- 04Whether the insured has already received payment from the carrier
- 05Optional: your Hover report, for a faster estimate
Systems and terms
In the systems you already use.
Estimates in Xactimate or Cotality line items, status updates in XactAnalysis or Cotality and your claim center, referrals through Remi's adjuster portal, and Hover reports accepted.
- Xactimate
- Verisk's property-estimating software, widely used to price insurance claims.
- XactAnalysis
- Verisk's platform for sending and tracking claim assignments.
- Cotality
- The claims platform some carriers use for estimates and status updates.
- Scope of loss
- The adjuster's record of the damage to be repaired.
- Direction to Pay
- A form the policyholder signs so the carrier can pay Remi directly for the approved work.
- Hover
- A measurement report adjusters can send to speed up the estimate.
Statuses
Four statuses, posted as they happen.
Posted in XactAnalysis or Cotality and your claim center.
- 1Estimate complete
An "Estimate complete" notification the moment the scope is uploaded and ready for review.
- 2Homeowner contacted
Posted once Remi has contacted the policyholder about the approved scope.
- 3Forms signed
As soon as work and payment authorizations are secured.
- 4Work started
"Work started," then milestone updates through each major phase of the restoration.
Documentation
Photos at the start, photos at the end.
At inspection
Inspections follow your program's requirements for photos, documentation and submission.
In the record
Each damage photo is pinned to a 3D model of the home, at the spot where the damage is. Anyone reviewing the claim can see what the inspector found and exactly where it sits on the roof.
At completion
When the work is done, the crew uploads photos for Remi's quality review before payment goes out, and Remi inspects the job before the crew leaves the property.
Billing
How assignments are billed.
- Estimate-only
Remi invoices a flat $60 when it delivers the completed estimate. If the policyholder then hires Remi, the $60 comes off the final project invoice.
- Full assignment
Remi bills the carrier once the policyholder has signed a Direction to Pay.
- Insured already paid
If you've released funds to the policyholder for that scope, tell us. Remi updates the file and collects the approved amount from the insured.
Billing terms as published for adjuster-led referrals. We'll confirm billing for inspection programs with your team during vendor review.
Common questions
Estimate questions, answered.
- What estimating software does Remi use for insurance claims?
- Remi writes every estimate in Xactimate or Cotality line items so it matches carrier guidelines, at Remi pricing on the carrier's scope. Status updates post in XactAnalysis or Cotality and the carrier's claim center.
- When does Remi's 24-hour estimate clock start and stop?
- It starts when Remi receives an adjuster's referral and scope of loss, and stops when the estimate is ready for review. The adjuster's inspection, carrier review and the install fall outside that window. On claims Remi inspects, the estimate follows the inspection, with timing confirmed per program during vendor review.
- What if the carrier has already paid the policyholder?
- If you've released funds to the policyholder for that scope, tell us. Remi updates the file and collects the approved amount from the insured.
- Can an adjuster send a Hover report?
- Yes. A Hover report is a measurement report adjusters can send to speed up the estimate, and Remi accepts it as an optional part of the referral.
- Who do adjusters contact about an open file?
- Working an open assignment? Leave a comment on the file in XactAnalysis or Cotality, or email claimsupport@remihq.com. For urgent estimating questions, call 385.233.3389.
